Release Date Roadmap + State Of The Game.

Hello everybody!

So school may be back in session but work on Aeternum hasn't slowed down, in fact it may or may not have increased by a decent margin.

I have made a roadmap to help me through development and I'd like to share that with you guys today.

My development roadmap looks as followed for the time being:

- Have Chapter 1 - 10 done by the end of 2021.

- Have a trailer published by the end of 2021.

-Increase the marketing via more trailers and more frequent social media activity.

- Have Chapter 11 - 20 done by the end of 2022.

-Release an additional demo separate from the main game that uses similar mechanics but is technically a different game.*

- Have the bonus chapters and dungeons done before 2023.

- Release the full game after all previous points have been done.

-If possible a Nintendo Switch port later down the line.

Estimated launch date: 2023-2024.

* = The additional demo will serve as a tool for storytelling and won't resemble the final product, instead it'll be an additional story part that extends the Aeternum universe, kinda like the first Resident Evil 8 demo (Maiden) did.

Now I know that sounds like a long time, which it is. But if I need to spend more and more years of my life making this project then so be it. I've already devoted myself so far, there's no going back now.

In addition to all of this I'll be experimenting with making music and such to give the game a distinct OST and not just the default RPG Maker MV OST,  in addition to that I'm also experimenting with new story elements, characters, et cetera to give the game more of an uniqueness. This includes potential major story changes and additions I wouldn't have even considered, but also perhaps cutting some features like the relationship system, but that'll become clear in due time. (You can kind of get a sneak peak of that experimentaion in the cover image.)

Another thing I'd like to emphasize that this roadmap I've made can change at any time. I'm still a young lad with a busy school and personal life and a big future ahead of me. I'm hopefully graduating next year and my life is going to change a lot in the coming times, just a hunch that I have. Perhaps in 2022 when I become an adult-by-law things will even be more different. In short life is changing a lot for me the coming times, both with adulthood on the horizon and exams hanging over my head. Plus I cannot predict the future. For all I know something miraculous or disastrous for the development of Aeternum happens somewhere down the line which is entirely possible. But even if I have to replace that estimated release window with a 2030 or something I'll get it done, you can trust me on that.

Now how is the current state of development?

Like I mentioned previously I have been working hard even with school having kicked in again. Currently I am working on the final parts of Chapter 7 and have started on Chapter 8. So yes things have been progressing smoothly and I'm definitely sharing more stuff with you guys soon.

I am more than aware that Aeternum won't be a GoTY attendee when it does come out, but that's perfectly fine.

At the end of the day Aeternum is a passion project of mine I'm making because I want to. Whether is blows up isn't a thing on my mind and honestly I don't see it happening, but that's fine since I doubt I'd be able to deal with such thing anyway.

But I do hope that when the final product comes out it'll give people something simple and fun to play. This project means a lot to me and I am more than happy to work on it.

Went on a little bit of a tangent there. my apologies.

I hope you all have a good day. Till next time.

-Rex
